‘Lesson In Love’ is the third album released by the lyrical ladies man Llyod, and with the comprehensive success of his previous album ‘Street Love’, the pressure is high. ‘Sex Education’ is the first track on the album and was the original title of the project which does, coincidentally, introduce the concept of the album. Following this is the second single ‘Girls Around The World’ featuring Lil Wayne which contains samples from Eric B and Rakim’s ‘Paid In Full’ song. As annoying as it sounds it’s still ear grabbing, especially once Lil Wayne steps in over the mic! “OK I'm thinkin' of a master plan Nah, I'm lyin', shorty on my mind Shorty like a fryin', pan, and I ain't got Nothin' but sweat inside my hands…”
A couple of tracks later you can’t help but feel attracted to the Eric Hudson production ‘Year Of The Lovers’ and it’s when you hear Llyod sing ‘let’s do something crazy, let’s make a baby’ you’re jolted with premature intimacy with cheesy lyrics. The following track ‘I Can Change Your Life’ is ear grabbing and a bit more mature than the last.
‘Loose Your Love’ and ‘Have My Baby’ are both produced by Big Reese and Jasper Cameron and both tracks have great cringe worthy hooks that will annoy you for the rest of your day! ‘Please have my baby yes I’m talking you. If you wanna have my baby then here’s what you do…’ A couple of tracks later Big Reese and Jasper Cameron are back again with ‘Touched By Angel’ where Llyod demonstrates more theatrical work, in fact, the whole album should be a soundtrack to a broadway musical!
After pressing the ‘skip’ button on ‘I’m Wit It’ Lloyd shows maturity with ‘Heart Attack’ although it is a shame to have had such a morbid title! Then as the album comes to an end, Lloyd leaves the best until last with ‘How We Do It (Round my way)’ featuring Ludacris which was the first single released from the album, and there’s also a UK version featuring Sway Dasafo which doesn’t quite live up to the ear candy from our Luda! “ATL, country as hell, strapped every part of da day, itz 22 women to ery1 man, and datz how we do in da A!”
