Roccett Blog #5
What's good HHNLIVE. This Roccett and we back with another edition of my blog. Thanks to all the people that been hitting me up talking about the HHNLIVE blog and showing there support. I appreciate it...
Checc me out in the worldwide Advertising Campaign for MAKAVELI BRANDED. This campaign is not only being displayed in the US, but also all of Europe... Shout out to all my peoples in Germany, the UK, and everywhere else across the globe that listen to my music. Hip Hop is a powerful movement...

Its an honor to rep Makaveli Branded, so go out and cop the gear heavy...

This week I went too the Core DJ Retreat, in New Orleans. Shout out to the entire city of New Orleans, rebounded well from the hurricane and thumbs down too the Hornets for beating my Lakers while I was in the NO... I also gotta send shout outs to DJ RIP, Tony Neal, Ktone, Quote, and all the other DJ’s reppin the Core and all the DJ’s across the world...
The retreat overall was poppin, DJ’s from all over the country, different events, different record labels, and artists under one roof getting it in... They had the video game NBA 2K8 and my manager Rick Edwards was beating everyone. So shout to Big Ricc and his 2K8 skills.
I was actually supposed to be a host of the Core DJ Retreat Rap City, but supposedly BET got funny when they started filming and switched up the entire game plan... I did end up doing some sort of freestyle segment for Rap City though... So we shall see if that gets some air time...
I got too see and chop it up with my dude Akon at the Core retreat. Akon is family too me, I gave him a few copies of that Corporate America CD and chopped it with him for a few. We ended up going to the radio station on Sunday night with Radio Personality Juggie from New Orleans, shout out to Juggie and the other personality whose show we invaded. On air, Akon announced that he was trying to sign me and make me a part of the Konvict family and that I was one of his priorities for 2008. Roccett and Konvict music, sounds real interesting and like a big move, so stay tuned too see what happens. Akon remains a humble person and keeps it real even with the success, money, and mega star status and I respect him for that...
I all most forgot I performed @ the Core new artist Showcase. It went with a different approach and really let the DJ’s see who Roccett was and not just go up there and perform my singles or radio friendly records. I ended up performing Ride W A G and Run These Streets, very street focused songs. The DJ’s still showed love and let me know they was feeling my music. I played them a record I have with Gorilla Zoe called “G Move”, this song is on my new street album Corporate America. I wanted feedback on this song because it has a bit of a club feel too it and wanted to see how the DJ’s reacted.

Checc out my new CD with DJ Slikk in Kentucky, it just dropped and has been getting love on the net and in the streets. The cover is crazy too, so shout out to the designer off this cover and to my man DJ Slikk and the KYMP KAMP DJ’s. Checc me out in Kentucky in May for the Kentucky Derby...
